Training youth workers to address social intolerance in the community

The goal of the “Youth for Coexistence” project is to prepare youth workers and youth leaders to address social intolerance in Europe, to promote access to peacebuilding for young people, and to train 340 youth workers and youth leaders to address social intolerance in their communities; digitize youth democracy toolkits/games, promote the democratic and active civic participation of young people, and launch a “cross-border” sustainable network for young people/youth workers to promote European coexistence.

Objectives

  1. Address social intolerance in Europe through youth work and young leaders, focusing on both traditional and nontraditional conflicts
  2. Build upon the legacy of past RESOLVE projects, partnerships and peacebuilding for development and support the accessibility of the Peacebuilding sector for young people.
  3. Develop 223 youth workers & young leaders, wider educators/community workers to address community social intolerance in their communities, incorp green peacebuilding through a Training Methodology.
  4. Support, guide, offer strategies to youth workers, educators and their organisations in addressing social intolerance and hate speech to promote coexistence in their communities especially amongst future generations to ensure a united, socially inclusive, cohesive Europe.
  5. Digitalize peacebuilding, youth democracy and development toolkits and simulation games to make them fit for purpose for Europe in 2026.
  6. Promote youth democratic participation and youth-led social action, to ensure young people are actively participating in their communities and encouraging wider generations to participate in democracy, promoting active citizenship across Europe.
  7. Launch a ‘beyond borders’ sustainable network for young people and youth workers to promote coexistence and peace that is designed to beyond traditional conflicts (i.e. Environmental conflicts), the project and the core project partners.
