Synergy

Synergy among initiatives aimed at overcoming political apathy among young people in Central and Eastern Europe

The Synergy project is based on cooperation among youth-focused civil society organizations from EU member states—Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary—as well as from countries in the Eastern Neighborhood—Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine.

Main objectives:

The aim of the project is to address a growing trend among young people in Central and Eastern Europe: apathy toward public life. This passivity manifests itself in low levels of political and civic engagement, as well as a general disillusionment with democratic processes.

The Synergy project aims to strengthen cooperation among youth organizations within and outside the EU, promote the sharing of innovative practices, and support young people’s active, informed, and meaningful civic engagement at the local level through capacity building.

The collaboration includes identifying and analyzing best practices, gaining partnership experience through study visits, and testing and disseminating innovative methods.

The focus will be on the methodology of non-formal education, strengthening youth participation, and fostering cooperation among stakeholders. All of this is aimed at the long-term goal of sustainably improving the well-being of young people and their local communities.
