Youth and Local Authorities together for Climate and Gender Justice!

"Ecoality: Youth and Local Authorities together for Climate and Gender Justice!" is a European project, funded by the European Commission, which aims to help increase awareness and a sense of co-responsibility among European citizens regarding individual and collective behavior in the face of the interdependence and intersectionality of ecological crises. It aims to mobilize more young people to commit to global challenges and to strengthen their cooperation with local authorities, in order to raise awareness of the urgency and shared responsibility of taking collective action to support and promote Climate and Gender Justice.

Expected results:

A fiatalok

  1. Through their participation in the program, the young people gained an understanding of the global and local interconnections of the climate and ecological crises;
  2. their critical thinking and understanding of the subject will develop;
  3. in collaboration with the local government and local organizations, they organize activities aimed at raising awareness of the climate and ecological crises and working to mitigate them.

Planned activities:

  • Development of educational materials for teachers, trainers, and youth workers
  • Training for teachers, trainers, and youth workers
  • Implementing awareness-raising programs among young people in formal and non-formal education (reaching schools, volunteer organizations, and youth organizations)
  • International meetings of local government representatives (3 events: in Hungary, Austria, and Croatia), sharing of best practices
  • Organizing Ecopolis Labs with the participation of students, young volunteers, and local government representatives (implementing local initiatives to raise awareness of and mitigate the ecological crisis)
  • Organizing community events
  • 2 international study trips for young people (2 young people per trip) – Madagascar, Mozambique
  • Local camps for young people (2nd and 3rd years)
  • Call for Proposals: Support for local initiatives by young people (with a focus on volunteers) addressing the climate and ecological crisis (4 initiatives – €5,000 – €5,000)
  • Awareness-raising communication campaigns involving young people
